Microsoft Sues Spammers
mclearn writes "Microsoft has filed seven more lawsuits against spammers, this time targeting those who violate the 'brown-paper wrapper' provision of the CAN-SPAM law, which sets rules for sexually oriented e-mail solicitations.
Apparently these are a small part of over 120 spam-related cases Microsoft is currently litigating. With Microsoft's deep pockets, can they effectively send a resounding message to spammers?"
They're not JUST doing it for brownie points.
Keep in mind that they run what's probably the most popular free e-mail service out there - hotmail - and there's no telling how much the spam they have to process costs them.
In Korea, only old people sue spammers. But seriously, big companies are starting to do some good by going against spammers. It is nice for a change for them to use their powers for good instead of awesome^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hevil. I guess when they run out of spammers to sue they'll just screw the puplic again though. So nobody will win. Except them. Those CEOs with the hot 19 year old wives and big big balls. life sux.
I'm still glad I'm a lowly programmer, working for the man.
