Doom Movie Update

WeAz writes "Dark Horizons has an update on the currently filming Doom Movie. The article sums up the history of the production thus far and also includes a cool tidbit that reveals 'a large number of sequences will be shot purely in "first-person" perspective of the leading character (Karl Urban).' Unfortunately, the article also reports that 'The monsters aren't from hell, but rather people mutated by some nasty super-virus although the monsters look very similar to those in the game.' Sounds like a version of 28 Days Later based on Mars to me."

It's not a religious issue, it's a reality issue

The "jesusland" people would be pissed that there's so much gore and whatnot. If the fact that a human is conquering hell was a "jesusland" problem I can think of other movies that present the same idea that got to theaters just fine without a rewrite of the key plot device. "End of Days" being one of them.

The problem is that "hell isn't real." Being mutated by crazy viruses is real (or at least a scientific possibility).

I wouldn't blame "jesusland" for this one. I'd blame atheists who are trying to make the movie more realistic (and therefore more scary). Since hell doesn't actually exist according to them, it's the first to go.

But hey, let's blame the Jews (er Christians) for spoiling all our fun. Rather than standard Hollywood proceedure of picking plot devices that sell. Religious scapegoats are more fun.

or maybe creating all the space scenes is infinitely expensive and they want to save some money by just setting the movie on earth. Do they have tinfoil hats in your world? You should look into a size small.
