Ubisoft CEO Speaks out Against EA Move

Gamespot is reporting that Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has spoken out against EA's "hostile action". From the article: "Considering the industry practice of communicating informally about such decisions, we were disappointed, to say the very least, that EA chose not to inform us of their specific plans beforehand." Further, Voodoo Extreme is reporting that a financial report may suggest the French government is going to assist Ubisoft in staying out from under EA's thumb.

"With Electronic Arts the new owner of almost 20 percent of Ubisoft, you might expect that company's leader to wobble a bit in the unexpected limelight."

Being French, I expected them to surrender...

Echelon has been used to give unfair advantage to boeing too, in the form of sensible datas. Behavior which is not in the scope of the french government should he want to favor one of its company.
So let's stop to pretend we believe there is one once of fairness behind those 2 governments. The only difference between those 2 is that France isnt powerfull enough to start oil wars, but barely able to enforce cacao peace.
BTW, this kind of grants have been given to disney when they built their eurocrap, and to numerous japanese car companies that built factories in France. They are not targeted at favoring french companies but at protecting french level of employment.
