Halo on Gizmondo?
Rumours circulated at CES, according to GamesIndustry.biz, that the successful Bungie franchise Halo will be released on the Gizmondo handheld. From the article: "Industry rumours circulating since before Christmas and enjoying a resurgence at CES suggest that Bungie's massively successful Halo may be on its way to Tiger Telematics' Gizmondo console, joining a number of other Microsoft Game Studios titles already announced for the system."
Could it be Tiger is helping MS get into the handheld gaming platform market?
I hope so, considering the way Game.com sold.
Are you making Halo for the Gizmondo?

I am told Microsoft does have a relationship with the handheld maker, but I can tell you right now the arrangement does not include Halo.

Fourteen dudes asked,
Are you making Halo for the Gizmondo?

I swear, there's one of these rumors every single fucking week. That's expected; but why the hell does Slashdot post them all, no matter how silly?

Bungie says otherwise in their weekly "What's New" update. Scroll down through the miserable slow scroller (with super neat bottom graphic overlay!!). Quoted below for the lazy:

What do they think? I'm not sure, yet. I didn't RTTFAAM (Read the twenty fucking articles above mine).
What's with all this Microsoft news lately? I don't like it. Somebody launch a salvo across their bow and make them shut up. I'm tired of seeing Billy's ugly-ass face.
That'd be strange. I can see it now, guy sitting on the subway quietly swearing to himself 'Effing invisible bastards....' I wouldn't have thought it to be viable. There's so much dark in the game, it would look funny on a handheld (and damn hard to play).
..and the handheld being based on a ms platform, it's not really a surprise.
and being that they managed to fuck up the pc port too i wouldn't hold hopes too high.
world was created 5 seconds before this post as it is.
It's very possible that Bungie is just denying this now because nothing official has been announced.
The only handheld videogame system that could resonably support a FPS is the DS. At minimum you would need two motion controls, one for each hand and one of those would need to be analog.
I'll take that back. You may be able to squeeze an FPS on a PSP if you use the analog nub for look, the right side buttons for move, and the d-pad for weapon select. Not perfect, but workable.
The Gizmondo has no analog controls. If you were to use the D-pad for moving and the four right hand buttons for look, only the two triggers would be easily reachable. So you have shoot and action, jump, or weapon select.
A Gizmondo Halo would be to XBOX's Halo what the SNES Doom was to the PC Doom, not worth playing.
Tiger Telematics != Tiger Electronics.
speaking of fucking up the PC port- boy, did they ever. halo PC was the only game i've ever had to reinstall directx after attempting to install. it was also the source of the only BSOD i ever got in winxp. i play a lot of FPS games, and the worst problem i had with any game before halo was the game itself having graphics glitches. congrats to microsoft/bungie for creating the only game (actually, the only piece of software, period) that caused my PC to crash & burn since win9x.

I can't be the only who still thinks of Tiger as the maker of mid-90s Game-and-Watch style LCD games (including "ports" of many popular arcade and video games)... I could just see what Halo would look like as a little dinky LCD handheld, I'm almost tempted to make a mockup...
