COMDEX Cancelled Again

An anonymous reader noted that COMDEX has been cancelled for the second year in a row. And meanwhile, thousands of IT professionals rejoice that they won't be again exposed to strange strains of viruses that their immune system can't handle.

the review on my papers solving intricate black hole conundrums was overlooked by slashdot for this choice piece of brain candy. C'mon we can to better than this crap!!

I'm afraid I'm not a PHB, at least not in charge of IT. I'm in charge of another department in a large organization, but I think it still holds true. Generalization has its place, but in something like IT, specialization is the way to go. Not to the point of being tunnel-visioned, but definitely have a thorough understanding of your specific field.
