Gallery and Coppermine Merger

ckdake writes "In a move designed to stun the market, the Gallery team has publicly announced its plans to merge with the Coppermine project. 'After Yahoo bought Flickr we started feeling a little bit left out! Why do those corporate droids get to do all the acquisitions?' asked Bharat Mediratta, co-founder of the Gallery project, in a joint press conference. Joachim "GauGau" Müller, the lead developer for Coppermine, added 'It's time for us open source guys to get in on the fun of burning money by making senseless acquisitions!' That's an impressively optimised submission-approval script they've got there. Has slashdot realised it can save money by firing all the editors and just approving anything that gets submitted?

      Here is a hint.

      Look at the date?

Occasionally some of the past april fools spoofs have been funny. Creativity is lacking a little in some of the posts today though.

One of the worst april fools story was someone asking slashdot what kind of programing language turns them on sexually and sets the mood with their spouses.

This is not possible, because Camera Life (http://fdcl.sf.net/), the superior photo management software, already bought out both projects. They are doing this stunt merely as publicity for the Camera Life parent project.
