What Can You Do With $100?

An anonymous reader asks "I was recently gifted with $100 and thought, 'What's the coolest geektoy--new, used, cobbled together, hacked--that one hundred clams could buy?' Home automation? Older PDA streaming client? Bathtub ROV? Basic stamp robotic kit? Something fun, something useful, something educational, something that says 'Look what I put together for $100.' Lemme know!"

Communication, preferrably with grace, economy, and clarity, is a much higher priority

My point exactly. Trying to construct the past tense of a noun (gift, after all, is a noun) is neither graceful nor economical, and it is far from clear.

P.S. For another example of the same principle, I think what you intended by the phrase "the guy means obvious..." was "the guy obviously means..."; note that while I am able to infer your meaning it would have been clearer and more graceful to user the more standard construction. I will conceed that it would be two letters longer and thus arguably less economical.

    Funny you mention semantics...

Did you watch the Clinton testimony? Seeing the sitting president argue the definition of "is" was a true classic.

Seriously, I think the whole Lewinsky issue has made oral sex an option for many of today's youth. There are some stories out there citing the rise of oral in kids today. We can blame Clinton, the Republicans, and the entire media for making that a story.
