Black Ops Game Projects

John Callaham writes "As we approach E3 next month, what game projects are currently in development but are still under official wraps? Computer Games Magazine takes a look at the sparse facts and does some speculation as well." From the article: "there is a period of near silence as developers work on games that are, for whatever reason, not ready to be officially announced yet. But that doesn't mean we can speculate based on the tiny snips of info that can be gathered from official sources, such as web site postings, press releases, interviews and job listings."

I do think Slashdot could use some finer definitions of what's considered a "good" article... perhaps having 5 levels instead of just the 3 might help?

Duke Nukem Forever will be announced as a launch title for the Phantom.

The celebration party for this will feature not one but two clowns.

Also, Rare will move all their projects to Xbox 3. Yes, 3 is not a typo.

I am curious as to if Kameo will come out for Xbox1 or 2... Even though they showed it off (playable, and on Gamecube at the time) back in 2001 at E3? Now the next Perfect Dark for Xbox3...who knows?

Looking at the wastes of former shining lights:

Look at the sub-par Age of Empires clone that was all Brian Reynolds of Alpha Centauri fame had to show for all his work.

Molyneaux locked himself in the ivory tower and became more interested in his high minded ideas of user interfaces and clever AI than an actual enjoyable game.

Carmack grinds out the same game with an updated skin year after year.

      Richard Gariott. Retired, no?

At least Wil Wright is looking like he may still have good ideas... Time will tell. But history isn't kind to gaming superstars.
