The intricacies of the writing, the fixation on brand names and product details, the nonchalance with which the main character carries out all these really brutal murders, and the fact that he tells people he does it but no one listens all don't really come through in the movie.
My favorite line is when the character is telling a girl in a noisy bar that his business is "murders and executions" and she hears "mergers and acquisitions".
Read it, but it's not for the squeamish. Very graphic descriptions of both violence and consumer products lie therein.
Lucas has had one or two fluke successes as a director. Other than that, he does not know how to direct. Pacing doesn't have much to do with writing, which GL did for all the SW flicks, more so with directing and editing.
Bonus Question: What films did GL direct between Episode 4 and Episode 1?
Answer: Not a goddamned one.
I'd just busted my ass for weeks trying to save the vault-dwellers, get to the end, and the overseer says "Thanks, but I'm not letting you back into the vault." Rather emotional.
Depending on your state, you should be able to have an online-ordained minister perform it, and their prices will vary, probably $100-$300. I performed a wedding in Colorado in January, having been ordained by the Universal Life Church.
Funny, funny. With both a hardware firewall and a third-party software firewall, I turn that off first thing. After I posted that, I saw that it might be the cap of the pending TCP/IP connections that is doing me in.
One additional app that it breaks that they don't mention is BitTorrent. I install SP2 on my home box every few months, and once I do, my BT DL speed drops down to almost nothing. Remove SP2 and it jumps right back up on the very same torrent.
Other not-so-serious sequel longshots (rated in decreasing order of probability): Curse of the Azure Bonds (based on the newer Pool of Radiance) BMX XXXXXX Diablo 3 Burgertime XP Any (PC, not console) FPS with networked co-op mode.
Where in TFA does it mention actually building a TV? How about a headline of "Record HDTV streams with your computer"?
I was hoping for something along the lines of Heathkit. I'd build a kit tv.
If I remember right, one issue this fall was the largest monthly magazine ever printed, at >850 pages. Of course, <20 pages of that were content, and the rest ads, but what do you expect?
And remember, Pique Paille translated from French to English, comes out as Prick Straw.
So there's no gameplay innovation in FPSs, but the Nth iteration of something that is essentially Duck Hunt with zombies shows innovation?
That sounds a bit trollish, but I really would like to hear what these innovations are.
I've not played RE4, as I have no GC, but figured it would be the same point-and-shoot as so many of its predecessors have been.
Then he kills a kitten.
The parent says: Acid+Aluminum = funk
And, as Heinlein says, "Real funk is not pretty."
But that may not be a bad thing, as George Clinton explains: "Funk will sit and sit and never go sour."
To widderslainte's comment, Ditto Ditto Ditto!

the Geoge Lucas of the 70's knew about pacing
Bullshit.

With that set of givens, the first thing that jumps into my head is SQL Reporting Services.
.PDF, .XLS, or a number of other formats, depending on what you want to do with it.
Skip the Access linked tables, skip the Excel step, just connect it to all your data sources, build your report, deploy it and you're done.
And, should the need arise, you can export the resulting report to

And yes, it is legal.
When's the last time Bungie made a good game?
No, Halo doesn't count. I'm probably the only person left on the planet that finds it unplayable and boring.
Funny, funny. With both a hardware firewall and a third-party software firewall, I turn that off first thing. After I posted that, I saw that it might be the cap of the pending TCP/IP connections that is doing me in.
Just skip the phoneline, sign up for dialup, and use Vonage or something similar to connect.

The easy way to believe the parent, believe in social contracts, and use adblock is to take this as a given:
Advertisers != People
You know the Bill Hicks marketing rant by now.

Will any of these shooters have cooperative PvE multiplayer? Or do I need to wait for SvenCoop for HL2?
This gives me an idea. Somebody let me know if this has been done before.

Just a guess, but Serious Sam 2? Maybe?

I'm sure you'd like us to believe that.
For an inexpensive box, Sharky Extreme does a decent job with their Value PC Guides.
$1000 isn't super-cheap, but it's a good guide to start with.

Mmmmmmm.... Laggy, desperate housewives...
