Linux Audio Conference 2005
Onan The Librarian writes "The 3rd annual Linux Audio Conference will be held from April 21 to April 24 at ZKM (Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie, a.k.a. the Center For Art And Media Technology) in Karlsruhe, Germany. This conference will present a series of public talks and workshops (with live audio streaming, of course), concerts of music made with Linux sound & music software, various BOF and impromptu sessions, and much more. See the details at ZKM's LAC2005 page for more information regarding topics and presentation times."

Hopefully soundcards manufacturers will actually work with F/OSS developers by 2010.
Maybe, just maybe, they can get software mixing to work not only for ALSA apps, but for the OSS subsystem too!
There's the audio miniconf (I'm sitting there now!)
/* FUCK - The F-word is here so that you can grep for it */
I'm at the conference now. Excellent turnout, excellent presentations. Too bad the announcement didn't make it to the /. frontpage, readers here seem awfully ignorant about the great advances in Linux audio. Oh well, the Linux Journal will run an article about the event in an upcoming issue, as will the Computer Music Journal. Btw, this event includes a number of concerts of music made with free software. Some terrific stuff is being done with Linux audio/MIDI software, and this event is a superb place to hear/learn more about it. Many thanks to ZKM and associated sponsors for hosting the conference ! :)
