    just because something is popular doesnt make it the right choice

    AFAIK mysql/maria still relies on innodb for transactions ! plus all the myriad of mysql type mishandling of null values.
    its a horror show of popularity.

    use a proper database and stop having to work around dysfunctional programming

    sometimes rhythymbox wont play properly becuase i was watching youtube in firefox

    or i cant play quake 3 while listening to rhythm box becuase quake3 uses openal

    its ludicrous, and it wouldnt be so bad excpet this has been this way for over a decade now

    if uve never been pulled into the us customs secondary inspection i wouldnt worry about it

    ive never had my laptop scrutinized and ive been pulled into secondary inspection a few times

    { canadian programmer telecommuting in the states == working in the states }

    think about who and what they are really looking for , its probably not you or your files

    3dsecure is the protocol, VBV and secure code are what visa and mastercard call their 3dsecure programs

    eventually mastercard will require this too

    maestro in uk already requires it at RBS and Barclay banks

    being someone who has actually had to implement this i can honestly say i see a lot more people just walking away from the transaction as soon as the 3dsecure interstitial is drawn on screen

    and that it takes a heck of a lot longer to get your ecomm in place

    sure it switches liability to bank and user, insted of merchant but if it makes you loose customers as well its a hard call

    Ive been using the 4gb asus eeepc 701 since it came out

    I bought an 120gb external usb drive and have been running xp off of it with no more or less pains than a normal xp pc

    yes the screen size is a pain with some apps that dont size down very well, such as nero

    I switch to a virtual mode for those case and get on with it

    i dont really mind the small screen size, it makes me focus on work and less on gaming... although quake3 does run very well.thasnkyouverymuch

    ive watch them sabotage many a good language {vrml and x3d} in the past with their red tape and rhetoric

    meanwhile the organizations in charge of interfacing with the iso just keep complaining about no money and no support of the community, mostly because the communities move on to more productive interests

    their need for process and committee basically squelching and stifling all innovation in the process

    im not surprised this has dragged on for soooo long

    why cant we all just use paperclip???
