cmaster383 writes "Wired is running a story about the use of a PSP for distribution of Porn. 'Two Japanese publishers of adult DVD video have announced plans to release a selection of their top titles on Sony's Universal Media Disc, or UMD, format, which is currently supported exclusively by the PSP, next month. These aren't shady gray-market items: The eight video discs will be officially licensed by Sony and carry the PSP logo on the package.'"

    When home video recorders were the next big thing, the VHS format won out over Sony's higher-quality Betamax. Why? Because the adult film industry embraced VHS.

    Linux activists have been focusing on the wrong market penetration...

    How does the saying go...that for any media to survive in the marketplace, it has to be accepted by the porn industry?

    Looks like Sony's done their homework.

    Finally... The PSP has the killer application is needs to truly succeed. But I would hate to be the janitor required to clean the Middle school or high school bathrooms around the country.
