PC Keyboard Connected to PSP

An anonymous reader writes "A hardware engineer has managed to successfully connect a full-sized PC keyboard to the Sony PSP handheld. It looks as if the hardware modification was done with several different xlink cable connectors modified to interlink with each other. Obviously, the software side of things is not complete, but this is still a very interesting modification." The real question is what killer apps will come out of all this PSP hacking. There has to be more than just MAME emulation.

    I just read some sad news on the BBC web site - Sci Fi actor James Doohan who played Scotty in Star Trek was found dead from pneumonia today. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.

      Very sad indeed...I loved the original star trek. Did anyone else spot the part of the article that said he had another kid at 80...seems a little late. Back on topic though, I'll hold my judgement on this mod till I see it in action. I could electrical tape a logitech mouse to my cat and have the first "Cat and Mouse" mod but I think people would appreciate some proof. ;)

      A bit unfair on the moderation guys...I was on topic, I just decided to put the important stuff before the article comment. I have to wonder if you guys just moderate based on the first part of a post, or if you actually read the whole thing. I know when I get mod points I carefully read the parent and grandparent, then examine the post itself for a good minute or two before making a decision.

    At least it's bloody news, not just some muppet who's plugged a USB keyboard into a device with a USB slot.
