All the previous posts seem to indicate that everyone has RTFA already, so I don't know why you need to tell them this.

That is of course, unless your talking to the writer of the article, then I would agree with you. This /. entry could have been written a little clearer

What's this person. Ok. Two things he did that are bad for open source.

    1) GNOME. Ok the QT license sucks but gnome was a very bad thing. Just when the users where united to make the new desktop with OLE and set the protocols for clipboard and stuff, Miguel came to make GNOME. Of course, the project was put under the 'GNU-blah' thing to get some initial moderation points that would enable it to boost off. But it divided the community of programmers *and* the standards that where supposed to unite all graphical apps where never made.

    2) Mono. The MS .NET framework will suceed if it is available on all platforms. It will fail if it remains a windows-only thing. Now thanks to mono, our linux distributions (Novell who got the $500M bonus), will ship and startup a mono-Net daemon by default. Thanks Miguel!

So. Who is this person. How did he come out of nowhere to start two of the biggest and most attention-drawing programs in the Open Source World. Is he *such* an ass-kicking programmer? Just think about it....

Or is that "Struggle Against Militant Extremism."

Crap, I can't keep this stuff straight.

In any case, don't let the terra-ists byte you. Otherwise, the only way to kill you will be with a silver bullet. Or is that a wooden stake?
