Modern Humans, Neanderthals Shared Earth for 1,000 Years

joffley writes "ABC News is reporting on new evidence that has emerged suggesting Neanderthals co-existed with anatomically modern humans for at least 1,000 years in central France, before gradually disappearing about 28,000 to 30,000 years ago. But why did they disappear?"

    No really, just think about it:

    You want to get rid of them but they just keep piling up and seemingly multiply in greater numbers.

    Some are worth keeping around.

    Most are dirty, grungy, and mostly useless taking up space.

    It takes a lot of them to be semi-useful.

    They tend to be a nuisance, think of vacuum cleaners.

    Nobody wants to be given a lot of them or deal with a lot of them.

    Most people would not stop to pick one up off the ground.

    They end up in bodies of water all the time. (Rio Grande!)

    Disposing of them can make you think you are getting a wish granted.

    You always will find more than one around.

    They are at the bottom of the chain. ("Take jobs not even blacks would take.")

    Nobody would miss them if they all just gone.

    The list just keeps going the more you think about it!

    Your on the right track...

    There is growing evidence they adhered to an obscure philosophy which they called 'faith-based'... Using the premise of this 'faith' they made policy decisions. Unfortunately, it was faith and faith only that they relied upon. No common sense maintanence of protective levees was done. and hence the first large storm that came along caused a catastrophe.
