Slashcode is such a joke. Come on, pulling some text from a db and spitting it out to a web page IS NOT HARD! There is no reason for code to go live that is so broken as it is now. And before you blah blah blah me about whether or not I have done it, I have. I used to work for a porn site that got 10 times the visits this shit pile gets. Mod me troll, I could hardly give a shit. This just plain sucks. I mean the dupes, the grammar, the zonk "editorials", scuttlemonkey?? I had half a hope when they fired michael but, fucking christ.
And to subtract more karma: I'm sure this site probably looks absolutely fucking great in IE on an XP box. I mean I bet it is the shit, a thousand times better than before. SO fucking fantastic, that the slashcoders are probably cracking open the champange congratulating themselves on a job well done. But, oh wait...I using the latest version of Firefox under linux. Isn't this site about open source? Maybe I should dig around to see if they incorporated any active-x...I surely must be missing something.
There's two types of comments below: "This looks great" and "This looks like shit/what the hell is going on?" 10 bucks says the great come from windows users and the shit/wtf comments comes from non windows users. Hypocricy at its finest. Years and years of M$ IS TEH SUXORS but this code is optimized and tested for the windows versions of all the browsers.
"10 bucks says the great come from windows users and the shit/wtf comments comes from non windows users."
You owe ten dollars I guess. It works both fine and shit/wtf in Opera, under Windows. Refreshing a few times fixes it, but the next refresh breaks it again (although that actually has stopped now)

No, it isn't. It's exactly as valid as it was before. Validity is a binary thing - a document is either valid or it isn't. Slashdot was not valid before, it is not valid now.
Perhaps what you meant to say was that there were less syntax errors. This is true, however that does not translate into "more valid".
