How do you know if you are calling a cell phone?

The same way I know that I am going to have a higher telephone bill at the end of the month when calling twenty year old Cindy at my favourite sex line.

  2. Re:Invalid assumptions on Windows Buyers Pay Patent Tax of $21.50 ? · · Score: 1

A change in their cost structure has no effect on the prices they charge; raising prices would reduce their gross revenues, which would be quite counterproductive.

Wrong. A monopoly seeks to maximise profits (not revenue) so the cost of the product does factor into pricing. Go back and read your Econ 101 notes.

  3. Re:Relevance? on New York To Ban iPods While Crossing Street? · · Score: 3, Insightful

If I have the right of way (i.e., I am at a cross walk, and the WALK sign is on), and I get hit by a car while crossing the street, this is clearly not my fault, and any amount of cell phone talking or iPod listening is entirely irrelevant.

It may not be your fault, but you still have a chance of avoiding an accident by being alert. Remember if you get hit by a car and die, even if it is not your fault you are still dead.

  8. License on Global Text Project – Wiki Textbooks · · Score: 2, Informative

The project will create open content electronic textbooks that will be freely available from a Web site. Distribution will also be possible via paper, CD, or DVD. Our goal initially is to focus on content development and Web distribution, and we will work with relevant authorities to facilitate dissemination by other means when bandwidth is unavailable or inadequate.

The major difference between this project and wikibooks is the licensing. The Global Text Project looks like all the content will be given away free but the project is at the mercy of the project leaders. At least with wikibooks I know the content is safe as it is all under the GNU Free Documentation License or compatiable license (such as public domain).
