From the article: "The HIRA gene is involved in the events necessary for the fertilisation that take place once a sperm enters an egg. Faults in this gene might explain why some couples struggle to get pregnant despite having healthy sperm ... Although their work in Nature is based on fruit flies, the same genetic processes are present in humans."

    It is official; Netcraft confirms: God is DEAD.

    One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered God community when IDC confirmed that God market share has dropped yet again, now down to less than a fraction of 1 percent of all dieties. Coming on the heels of a recent Netcraft survey which plainly states that God has lost more market share, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. God is collapsing in complete disarray, as fittingly exemplified by failing dead last in the recent Sys Admin comprehensive networking test.

    You don't need to be a Kreskin to predict God's future. The hand writing is on the wall: God faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for God because God is dead. Things are looking very bad for God. As many of us are already aware, God continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood.

    FreeGod is the most endangered of them all, having lost 93% of His core preachers. The sudden and unpleasant departures of long time FreeGod preachers Jordan Hubbard and Mike Smith only serve to underscore the point more clearly. There can no longer be any doubt: FreeGod is dead.

    Let's keep to the facts and look at the numbers.

    OpenGod leader Theo states that there are 7000 followers of OpenGod. How many followers of NetGod are there? Let's see. The number of OpenGod versus NetGod posts on Usenet is roughly in ratio of 5 to 1. Therefore there are about 7000/5 = 1400 NetBSD followers. God/OS posts on Usenet are about half of the volume of NetGod posts. Therefore there are about 700 followers of God/OS. A recent article put FreeGod at about 80 percent of the *God market. Therefore there are (7000+1400+700)*4 = 36400 FreeGod followers. This is consistent with the number of FreeGod Usenet posts.

    Due to the troubles of Walnut Creek, abysmal sales and so on, FreeGod went out of business and was taken over by GodI who sell another troubled diety. Now GodI is also dead, its corpse turned over to yet another charnel house.

    All major surveys show that God has steadily declined in market share. God is very sick and His long term survival prospects are very dim. If God is to survive at all He will be among diety dilettante dabblers. God continues to decay. Nothing short of a miracle could save Him at this point in time. For all practical purposes, God is DEAD.
