year. From the article: 'BRITISH American Tobacco
(BAT) is to launch a controversial 'safer cigarette' designed to cut the risk of

I wonder if this will have any impact on the no smoking bans we have seen in recent years?"
Who cares if they're safer, they're still bloody obnoxious to inflict on others in public places. Persons smoking in violation of bans should have their thumbs cut off.

-Operate a motor vehicle
-Take public transit
-Use electricity
-Buy anything, because that store's gonna use electricity

i haven't been this furious since i heard about detox centers giving out clean needles to junkies or rave organizers giving out water bottles and pacifiers or free condoms to prevent the spread of STDs. if you're going to engage in dangerous and unsanctioned behavior, it's immoral to try to prevent the harmful consequences of said behavior. it's the right thing to do to let the sinful people die a horrible death

My reasoning, is smoking bans are against the spirit of democracy, AND capitalism. The tyranny of the masses is telling individuals and establisments what they are, and are not allowed to do. If an establisment want to be non-smoking there is nothing to stop them.
I think it is purely aesthetic too, and one of those silly dogmatic liberal bandwagons.

Exactly ... and what do you wanna bet this new "safe" thing still smells to high heaven? I object to that too. I shouldn't have to smell that stuff all the way through dinner just because you can't wait for half an hour and/or go to the frickin' door and do it outside. Your right to indulge yourself ends where it harms others.

So go to a different restaurant. Who's holding a gun to your head saying that you have to go there? There were smoke free restaurants before the ban, surely chains will cater to the needs of people who don't like cigarette smoke. Simple economics.

I quit smoking/STINKING 8 years ago. I went from 3 packs a day (smoked them all the way to the filter, one every 10 minutes) to ZERO.. I quit and never once cheated, I really quit..
I have a few friends that insist on STINKING and when they come over they stink so bad that I want to spray them with something.
When I go over to their houses, I have to remove my clothes in the garage and wash them right away because if I bring them in the house and leave them for later laundry, my house will stink too.
You want to kill yourself, you go ahead.. But keep your stinking ass cigarettes away from me.
I HATE going in the store because all the STINKERS throw their stinking butts on the ground by the door and the smell is horrible.
And standing in line at a store next to someone that smokes, man, I have told more than one person to back away from me because they stink...
I think tobacco should be outlawed. All forms. It's nasty, it stinks, it's disgusting and it KILLS.... You don't like my idea, go ahead and continue to cut your life short and continue to STINK.... I'll live longer than you, that's for damn sure.
