Unfortunately he also proposes starting a 'Decade of Contact', which seems to mean spending a whole lot of public money on UFO education. Is he on the right track here, that we can't afford to ignore the rest of the Universe any longer?" From the article: "The United States military are preparing weapons which could be used against the aliens, and they could get us into an intergalactic war without us ever having any warning ... The Bush administration has finally agreed to let the military build a forward base on the moon, which will put them in a better position to keep track of the goings and comings of the visitors from space, and to shoot at them, if they so decide."

He's not only an "ex-Minister" but a man who was so left-wing lunatic he was actually EJECTED FROM THE PIERRE TRUDEAU *spit* LIBERAL *spit* PARTY. This, may I remind people, is the party that took in that rat-bastard PET because he was in turn too far-left for the NDP.
Hellyer actually managed to distinguish himself as the biggest embarassment in Trudeau's cabinet, even succeeding such total idiots and dangerous criminals as Marc-Andre Lalonde and Jean Chretien. (Or the rat-bastard himself... thank the Lord he's dead...)
Americans looking for Paul Hellyer's reputation should imagine a man who's as far left of Ralph Nader as Nader himself is of Neil Boortz or Ann Coulter. Then on top of that add the most lurid meglomania outside of North Korea, a brain roughly three quarters the size of Keira Knightley's, and the paranoid delusions of the biggest tin-foil hat owner on the planet. He makes Libby Davis and Carolyn Parrish seem positively SENSIBLE by comparison.
