DOA Ships Today
Gamespot reports that the much-anticipated Dead or Alive 4 ships today, after a series of delays and confusion. From the article: "During the past month or so, the game's presumptive release date kept getting pushed back by about a week at a time by online retailers, causing many to wonder whether the game would indeed ship in 2005, especially since Tecmo remained mum about a specific release date all the while. But now fighting fans can look forward to an action-packed weekend courtesy of the latest game from Ninja Gaiden developer Team Ninja."
Is this the game that is supposed to get every gamer from Tokyo to Osaka rushing out to buy a 360?
Does the counter system actaulyl WORK this time around? Hmm.... I won't be buying a 360 just for this game, but I'll certanly check reviews (from other gamers) to see if it's at least worthy of a casual tournament.
The eternal struggle of good vs. evil begins within one's self.
So do you have that now, slashdot admins? Anything that doesn't interest user mmaddox is heretofore deemed irrelevant and non-newsworthy. I hope you got that down, or you may receive more scathing, edgy comments from him!!! And no one wants that!

--BREAKING NEWS--
Game X was delayed, but now it is released.
I hope we can expect a headline for whatever game is released tomorrow.
The online options include everything from daily tournaments, monthly tournaments of the highest rated players, and even Guilds/Clans.
Kudos to a company that resisted the urge to release an unfinished game for the holiday season and made sure the game was perfect. This game should see a ton of success, and this decision should be a model for other companies.
This is the first game in the 360 line-up that I care about. Now, if only two more games that are also good come out for the system my three game min req. will be fullfilled and I might actually pick up the system. By then, the system might be available also. I guess I am waiting on an official Gaiden 360 release date. Tecmo seems like they are one of the few companies that produced awesome X-Box only titles. When titles are cross platform, I tend to buy them for my PC or Gamecube.
Now utilizing the bouncing tit engine 2.0 and ass shaders 3.0. Don't forget kids, this version has sweat, and each bead of sweat has it's own beads of sweat made up of 5,000 polygons. All this while maintaining 10,000 fps.
Its the same reason I dont care about the Madden games released every year.
Ive played this already.
Yes, I hear people constantly talking about how much theyve improved so-and-so elements of the game, how x looks that much nicer, how there is more interesting background interaction... but its still the same game, just shinier.
Ive played DoA before. I played DoA1,2 and a little of 3. I just cant justify 60$ on a game that Ive already played multiple times. This is just a slight upgrade on an already well established series.
You can find a copy of DoA2: Hardcore for ps2 for 10$. Does slightly improved elements on a game ive already played for more then 5 years really justify this purchase? Well, it might for some people, but it certainly does not for me.
Anyone else find it funny that the release of a game with this name, will pretty much sum up if the XBox360 is dead or alive? and how competetive it'll be with PS3 whenever that finally makes it out.

IGN: Dead or Alive 4 Review
It is a well known fact that you are a xbox fanboy and/or astroturf, but touting Live in this context???
These games are supposed to played in with friends in the same room, with lots of beer. Who the hell would like to play fighting games on internet anyway?
"But, but XBox 360 can do that too!!". I know, I know.
I'm sure some of the members here are trying to escape the slashdotter stereotype, and then someone goes and posts an article about a new DOA game being released :)
"Yay! Boobs!"
This should do a lot of good for the lagging 360 sales in Japan, apparently a lot of people put off buying one because of the lack of games. The main game they wanted at launch that wasn't available was DOA4. Microsoft will be glad to see it finally hitting the shelves.

I guess for some reason the Europeans have to wait at least 2 more weeks. I haven't seen any exact release dates yet, they seem to range from 20060114 to 20060201. I don't understand why this delay has to be built in. I live in Holland, and it's not like the whole game or manual has to be translated to Dutch.
I can think of one reason. Seattle Seahawks! Woot! 100 offense!
GO HAWKS!
Its about time, Tim (creator of the popular web-comic Ctrl-Alt-Del) will be relieved to hear the news. i am wondering why i have heard more about these random games that miss their release dates and then nothing on say the Phantom game console that is just that, a phantom. i bet you would get some interesting feedback from a post like that. although i could have just missed it but i guess i will never know.
