Actually I think the main issue stems from the fact that the date held steady as the 28th shipping until the 11th hour, at which point dates of 29th, 30th and others were being reported by gamestop and EB. I'd imaginve the purpose of this is to clear the confusion.
You shouldnt have modded parent down, he's right you know. Sony forked out a wad of cash for exclusivity, nothing else. Theres no other reason why Namco woulda backstabbed all the loyal fans with Xbox/GC that bought SC2 in huge numbers.
If turds like Army Men games can get approved then its a sad sad day when something WD picks out can't. WD singlehandedly carried the Sega CD and lent a lot of credibility to the Saturn. Most recently Growlanser Generations was incredible and we would have never gotten it without WD. I for one am gonna miss those weirdos a lot.
Given the extremely low sales of the Xbox in Japan this isnt suprising. Just let a few games that sold well play and dont worry about the rest is probably thier strategy.
Gee, imagine that. They put out their next gen handheld and make it backward compatible... Of course the old ones gonna be phased out, its to be expected.
This is just a case of simple greed off of a successful industry. There are VERY few games that sell well on the strength of VAs. In fact i'd go so far as to say that VAs detract from more games than they add to.
While most analysts keep saying the price will be up there, I think 360 will arrive at $299. Sony has already shown that it has superior hardware and MS knows that the slight gap of headstart they have on PS3 is their only real chance to seize hold of the console market. MS has shown with Xbox that it will take a hit to keep prices competitive and I believe 360s launch will be no different.
Anyone who thinks big N or even Sony for that matter would release a major system before the holiday shopping season is a fool. It'll be 4Q 2006 at earliest.
Personally I think this might turn out to be a good thing on both counts. Atom Films has some really funny stuff on thier site and if Sony sees high DL #s we might see similar video downloads in the future.
Speaking as a former WoW player, the server outages were a far bigger issue than content updates. Constant lag and queues made me quit playing WoW. I think that the servers are the issue that they are currently focusing on more than content updates.
As VG history shows us, when a company releases a system they like to wait until others have shown their hands first, hoping to trump them. PS1 did it to Saturn, PS2 did it to DC (just as it was gaining steam) and they are hoping to do the same to MS at E3.
They should just put the version numbers up really high. Everything with a high number is popular. Maybe put an XL or a GT on the end for good measure.
I take it you haven't seen a gamecube then.

Oh yeah... well.... Damn, I got nothin. He burned me.
Yeah, that falls under 4Q. Sept-Dec. I could care less about Japan's release date.

Speaking as a longtime user of Netflix I think they will be around for a while given their excellent service and selection.
Mmmmm... Morgan Webb porno... *drools*
Word of advice on that- No matter what game you play online, there will always be whiners.

Scary thing is, I bet this will do far better than Phantom could ever hope to.
3MHz? Have fun running number munchers on that thing.
Man I hate doubleclick with the tracking cookies they use.
I'm sure this time, this is the year Duke Nukem Forever is released! You'll all see...
No original games? Last I checked there had never been a stealth-based stratRPG like MGAcid is before.
Finally, some real news.

The FCC shoulda just dropped "The Hammer". Flush that ya #*@%!.
