This is an unrelated post. I just have to get this out.
I am typing this post to let you all know that the corporate Internet that we have all become accustomed to is dying. It is bleeding like a stuck pig, only from it's ass and not everyone can see the torrents of ass-blood running down the Internet's legs. Mind you, the Internet has always been bleeding from its ass, it's just that now the situation is much more dire.
Why and how, you ask? Well, let me tell you. N E W S C O R P. That's how. And, quite frankly, that's why.
It was bad enough when IGN became this massive smorgasborg of Internet sites in the gaming world, run and edited corporate-style. But now, thoze dozens of websites are now run by Newscorp. And crap has incredibly yet un-surprisingly gone to crap, once again.
Many have voiced concern about journalistic integrity what with Newscorp having a hand in things. Others say it's nothing but left-wing bitching. And some of those say "If the product/service is still good, why switch?" I agree with that, except when it's CRAP gone to COMPLETE CRAP.
I could go on about the absolute crap articles, the lack of descriptions for game mods ("gamespy.com has no control of the content of external web sites. Be careful out there; terrorists lurk everywhere! And they want to change our way of life with viruses because they think they have a perfected political framework, social framework, and want to spread the miracle that is third-world life to every corner of the Earth because God would approve, whether those people want it or not, and whether putting their countries in a state of bloody revolt for years and years is right or not.), or the dozens of similar (or identical) looking websites... but no, I will just say this:
