Classic Game Endings Online

Game Revolutions has a project running to collect together some of the finest game endings from the 16- and 8-bit eras. Some of the examples they have for viewing via Flash include Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, Flashback, Secret of Mana, and Starfox.

Much funnier would be a list of the worst/unintentionally funny game endings.

Here is the correct link for Starfox.

Personally, I wish that they didn't restrict themselves to consoles. There were a lot of Commodore, Amiga, and early PC games that had great endings.

  7. My favorite game ending by Henry+V+.009 · · Score: 3, Interesting

I beat Infocom's game Enchanter by (somewhat accidently) exploiting a couple of game bugs. So I didn't have full points at the end. This wasn't ever supposed to happen of course, but there was still a cool ending where the circle of Enchanters expressed vague disappointment in my deeds, saying that "something was missing."

On the Gameboy version, winning Game B, level 9, 5 high results in a ending sequence. First, a bunch of dancers and musicians perform for you, then you watch a shuttle launch.

In Game A, attaining certain high scores is rewarded with smaller spacecraft launches, started with a puny probe and going up in size to some moderately impressing rockets.
