EA Fires 5% of Its Staff
JorgeDeLaCancha writes "On the heels of the dispute between EA and Ubisoft, EA has recently announced the decision to fire five percent of their workforce, approximately 350 people. EA's recent announcement has nothing to do with game sales, but rather 'It's more reconciling the costs of learning new systems with what the needs of the new systems are.'"

Good thing they're not as evil as that "Ubisoft" company.
ad logicam Claiming a proposition is false because it was presented as the conclusion of a fallacious argument.
Does it seem like every game publisher thought that the world would be swimming in Xbox360s right now? To their credit, the original Xbox owners bought a lot of games, so EA, Take Two and others all figured that Madden 06 for the 360 would be flying off the shelves by now. Then, shortly thereafter Madden 06 for the PS3 and Rev would be selling like crazy too.
It seems this whole next gen thing is looking, at least in the short term, like a disappointment. EA is taking it out on their employees...
If you're looking for some more talent, I know a few developers that recently became available...
