Shuttle Retirement Costs Divert Science Funding

FleaPlus writes "Although overall NASA funding is expected to increase next year, NASA has announced plans to divert money from its science program to help pay for the expected cost overruns for flying the Space Shuttle safely until its retirement in 2010. A number of science projects are being canceled or delayed indefinitely."

Yet, we have unemployment at an all time low now. However, some sacrifices are needed now. So would you please shut the hell up about this anti-christian retoric?

Why bother with science if you are christian? Not all christians could care less about science. And just because you are a scientist or a christian, one does not exclude you from being the other, as many would want you to believe. Every day I regret how those who claim to be christian (and might really live faithfully, who knows, I'm not one to judge them) use their claim for their own political gain, publicity, agenda, whatever. And I'm sorry you've had to listen to it all; I'm sorry I've had to, also. My point is that it is possible to have religous beliefs and still contribute to modern science.

One commonality I see between Christianity & Islam: Denial of Knowledge, scientific or otherwise. If it's not spelled out in the Holy Christian Bible, or Koran, well folks, it's heresy and doesn't exist.

Now I just hope that nodody firebombs Taco's house for this blasphemous post

    The USSR had 9 seperate space stations, including Salyut 1 - 7 (1971 to 1991) and Mir (1986 - 2001).

Mir - out of 7 components, only 1 was shipped and constructed using the Shuttle (the Shuttles docking port), the rest were launched by Proton and docked manually. If it can be done for Mir, it can be done for the ISS.

I agree tho that the ISS is getting to be a waste of time and money.
