The first commercial applications are intended for aircraft, allowing crews to quickly reshape interiors to maximize payload space. BTW, smart fasteners hit Slashdot's radar almost two years ago."

    Isn't this a step up from explosive bolts? I wonder how long before an airplane falls apart in mid-air because of faulty wiring/programming a la Liberty Bell 7...
