May's Best Independent Games

cyrus_zuo writes "Game Tunnel has just published its May Independent Video Games Round-Up. This month's article looks at eleven indie titles including the extremely innovative The Odyssey, the overly bloody Gibbage, and the way too-cool Eets, the later of which walked away with the Game of the Month award. As always the article includes four different viewpoints on each game, giving you a variety of different opinions to agree and disagree with."

IMO two of the best indie games ever: Harry the Handsome Executive and the EV series. Sadly both are Mac OS 9.x or less (though "EV Nova" is Mac OS X/WIN compatible).

What about Ferazel's Wand? That game is so cool I would almost buy it.

Ambrosia are definitely one of the best small software houses. Freeverse are another good one. Burning Monkey Solitaire is an amazing time sink and Comic Life is pretty innovative.

You should give that odyssey game a try if you like something different. You are a god who has to steer ships around obstacles from A to B by generating wind through mouse movements, and waving your hands over the seas. Its quite a nicely coded little physics thing, and a superb idea. That sort of thing should have been coded into games like Black and White or age of mythology.
