PS3 Controller Flimsy, Wii Controller Fun

With the advent of new input styles in the PS3 and Wii, many gamers are wondering what it will be like to actually play with the new controllers. Via Aeropause, an article on IGN says that the SIXAXIS controller is flimsy and poorly designed. Meanwhile, via Joystiq, an article on British site Entertainmentwise reports that the Wii isn't physically exhausting at all, as some people feared. After two hours of playtime, in fact, they loved the experience. From the article: "Some gamers have shown concern that the activity level required to play Wii games, especially the sporty titles, may be too high. There are concerns that you have to stand for long periods of time and use body actions such as swinging your arm above your head or at the side of your body. After playing non stop for two hours, did this happen to me? No. I'm not exactly Wonder woman in terms of fitness and I can assure you, as a regular player there was enough action to warrant perhaps making sure one has access to a tap before playing (you're going to want a drink if you play for as long as we did!) and possibly ensuring plenty of moving around space in your living room. The key to the Wii control is that even the most active title on the launch line up, Wii Sports, doesn't require you to make large body motions unless you want to."

Wow, there seems to be some major issues with the PS3 at this late date. Even though its supposed to be out next month there are these problems outstanding:

    - Final software have not been shipped to developers yet
    - Final hardware have not been shipped to developers yet
    - Final online specs have not been shipped to developers yet

Yet the developers are supposed to be producing games based on these shaky specifications? How are they possibly going to have time to beta test before manufacturing? How would they know how to add online support if the service isn't up yet?

Now the PS3 controller is supposed to be bad too. What a disaster!

he funny bit is that Nintendo has already lost the Next-Gen war.
The Japanese weekly games magazine Famitsu did a survey of over 4000 attendees of the Tokyo Game Show:

Which next-generation system are you most looking forward to:

    PS3 58.3%
    Wii 33.8%
    Xbox 360 7.9%

      Nintendo wasn't even present TGS

      And? Seen the release schedule?

Look it's really simple, simple even enough for a Nintendo fan to understand. The success of gaming platforms in Japan depends entirely on their titles.

      Square/Enix
      Namco
      Sega
      Konami

Those names ring a bell? Those companies will ONLY release their AAA titles initially for the PS3.
And before you start whinging on about stuff you read on a gaming news website, let me point out that I've worked on projects for all 4 of those companies in Tokyo, and have seen up close how those decisions are made - I was there when a certain MS employee gave his lecture to Namco staff on why they should develop games for the original xbox and when he was nearly thrown into the street:)

Yes you will be able to play all the PC ports you want on the Xbox360 and half-arsed ports by Japanese companies who have had cash thrown at them, and yes you will be able to play Mario Vs Pikachu 17 on the Wii, but for people into console gaming there will be only one choice.
