Wii Confirmed at 480p

Eurogamer is reconfirming that the Wii only outputs at 480p, after the official Nintendo magazine mistakenly said otherwise. From the article: "Nintendo UK also recently said that it had every intention of releasing peripherals like the component cable — used to achieve the 480p resolution — at retail, despite suggestions that you'd have to buy the cables through online shops in the US. The interest in Wii's high-resolution options is of course spurred on by Microsoft and Sony's battling over the higher end. Both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 generally offer games in 720p, with 1080p now possible for developers who want to go the extra mile (well, the extra 1,152,000 pixels, anyway)."

Wow! I REALLY want a Wii! Look what you get:

    1. A gimmicky controller that will become annoying after 10 minutes of use.

    2. A whole line of games with gripping storylines geared at those 12-and-under players, such as "Mario stomps mushrooms" and "Mario drives a toy car" and "Zelda looks for the ultra-super-mega-lucky spirit sword to rescue his/her boy/girlfriend!"

    3. A console that does NOT play DVD movies (unlike all of the others)

    4. And now... 1990 quality graphics!

I'm running right out to buy one today! Sounds like a great product! I'll put it right next to my 8 Track player, and my copy of Pong.

Even tho you got modded a Troll, you are correct in every sense. The only reason there is so much "loud" hype about the Wii is because even people on welfare can afford it. Thats the 1 reason so many people diss the 360 and the PS3. Everyone secretly wants one but is pissed they can only afford the Nintendo, so they hype it up not to feel bad bout their situation. Truth.
