Red vs. Blue Series to Wind Down
Via Joystiq, the news at the Red vs. Blue site that the 100th episode will be their last. Despite the 04/01 posting date of the announcement, it looks like the reality is that there are only a handful of episodes of the Blood Gulch Chronicles left. "One hundred is a great number, and it seems like the perfect place to call it a show. I am sure you have some questions about our plans for the series and beyond. We will be talking about all of that in the weeks and months to come, but I want to use this time to thank all of you for nearly half a decade of support. For now, it's back to work. From the recent developments in the storyline, you may have noticed some loose ends coming together and we have a lot to wrap up in the last seven videos. We hope you will love them as much as the first seven or the middle seven or whatever it was that initially drew you to the world of Red vs Blue." It's always great to see a series go out on a high note, and one can only hope that the folks at RoosterTeeth plan to work on new projects in the future.
While I'll certainly miss RvB, I can't wait to see what's next from the crew behind it.
Thanks for everything, RoosterTeeth, and best wishes for the future!

I can't believe it's still going...jumped the shark around the sixth or seventh episode.
Then again, I thought The Simpsons has been going downhill since they started doing celebrity episodes...and that was probably about fifteen years ago.
And then... the thing - it was BRIIiiiiGGhht - showed up... AND Church was all like THIS and I was like THAT and...
Are you the audience eeeeeeenjooooooying this show? Ok? Good.
So then Church was hitting me... AND I was like "Church! Why are you hitting me?"
But! He. Just. Kept. Hitting. Me.
I know. Who would have thought that CHURCH would have... such a mean streak?
And then I was alone. I don't like being alone. Alone is not good.
Oh, hi Shelia! Shelia is my friend. Shelia, you're not going to blow me up again... are you? And don't blow up Church. I like Church. He's my friend.

why all the episodes are available online.
View them yourself. I became a paying member just to watch them earlier. Heck even the low res ones looks decent on my tv, i can't imagine what the dvd sets look like.
i thought once I was found, but it was only a dream.

It was a great concept and they executed it beautifully, but besides some shining gems, the writing was sub-par. Without a great narrative, no amount of technology is gonna save a series. Many of the episodes got kind of boring. Some were just flat out off the deep end.

Very good, but the piracy warning screens are worth watching in their own right!

Oh, say does that Star-Spangled Banner entwine / The myrtle of Venus with Bacchus's vine?
That they get a real budget next time they work on a project like this. I'll admit that I thought the series had its ups and downs (more Tex, less O'Malley) but you can't really expect A+ material every episode considering this is machinima. Next time the Red vs. Blue team gets together, hopefully they'll have a real budget instead of getting by on donations and subscriptions.
This WAS posted on April fools day you know.
Are we sure we believe them?
