A Tablecloth to Charge Your Laptop

moscowde writes "Research scientists at the University of Tokyo have come up with a unique sheet-like material that can transmit electrical energy over a large area to nearby devices without the need for direct contact, so it can be made into a tablecloth or wallpaper and your appliance can be anywhere on a surface to get charged. The system uses organic molecules as transistors, microelectromechanical switches, and miniature copper coils to transmit energy using electromagnetic induction."

So Slashdot editors don't read Slashdot? At least that's something Slashdot has in common with Digg.

    Dear slashdot,

I'm sure most if not all of you have been in this situation before, so I thought I'd solicit some friendly advice. I was just in my cube wanking to some Japanese tentacle porn (a.k.a. anime), and the 60-year-old office manager walked by right as I was exploding. I had my junk out and everything. She was shocked and horrified, and I was startled so I accidentally sprayed all down the front of my khakis. She ran off in tears, and I can see her in the boss' office with the door closed. She seems to be very agitated and he's frowning and looking in my direction. There's also the problem of this gooey mess on my trousers and I'm due to present an IT roadmap to our department in 15 minutes. What should I do? I little help please...
