Apple Sued Over iPhone Non-Replaceable Batteries

UnknowingFool writes "A customer named Jose Trujillo has filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple over the iPhone batteries. According to the suit, Apple did not disclose that the batteries of the iPhone were not user-replaceable. Also the plaintiff alleges that the battery will need to replaced every year. When a battery needs to be replaced, the customer will be without a phone for several days unless the customer pays $29.95 for a loaner phone service. Lastly, the plaintiff alleges that the battery information was difficult to find on Apple's website."

You'd think a company with as good of a reputation as Apple wouldn't make 'bricks' out of their latest offering, being the "green" company that they are^H^H^Hsupposed to be... What a kick in the face to everyone who paid $600 for one of these pieces of junk.

windshields are required by law. try again.

how about a user serviceable engine? I mean, I cant tweak the idle or the choke on my new VW without buying some kind of hardware and software. Its really not user serviceable at all. There was a time when this would be a given in any car and then fuel injection came along. Did we sue every car manufacturer for taking away this fairly basic functionality?

What if you bought a new roadster, its hot and sleek like an iPhone. But it turns out it doesn't have a back seat? Why didn't the manufacturer tell you it didn't have a back seat? practically every car on the road today comes with a back seat!?!

Not in all places... I know in North Carolina, your car will not pass inspection with a cracked windsheild, but you're not actually required to have a windsheild, so you can just take it out to pass inspection.

That reminds me of the time I went shopping for a used car and saw a '95 Dodge Stratus for sale. Really nice condition, decent price, seemed like a good car, until I opened the hood...

The front fenders curl over much farther than most cars, so the hood area is smaller. As a result, I couldn't even see the battery. I asked the guy how you change the battery and he said he didn't know. I ran from that car.

I looked it up later, and it turns out that the "easiest" way to replace the battery is to remove the front tire. No thanks, Dodge... If a simple operation has been made that much more difficult than it should be, I don't want to think how much trouble I would have with more complicated tasks like the belts or water pump.

Flamebait? You're a Troll today. Look at your jackass sig, your jackass comments, then figure out why you spend 90% of your time afraid of the ideas you're trying to suppress. It's hard news to realize the knowledge in your pea brain is getting obsolete but it doesn't mean you get to piss on everyone who has broader horizons. Stop clinging to your busted version of reality, pathetic little man.
