but my summary wasn't as good - so I guess the editors made the right choice.

The main reason I submitted it was to push that 'pending' in my submission queue, from last August, off the page. But apparently it doesn't work that way, because it is still there, 5 from the bottom. Call it ocd but it really bugs me - I like everything rejected or accepted. I mean pending is acceptable for a few days even - but then it needs to get sorted out.

Hey, it takes more than just throwing a dart at a board to steal an idea, you know...if they were smart enough to automate cherry-picking of submissions, they'd be smart enough to come up with their own. They are not. We get to deal with it. Life's tough, and then you get rejected.

and that's all I want. But it's cool. I thought I could just push it off the bottom of the page, but apparently I have to wait for it to age out.

I'm guessing that instead of rejecting it first, and _then_ ripping submitters off by using roland poop-pah-meal, etc. they think if they just let it quietly die like a bloated x-groundhog lying under the front porch in the heat of the afternoon, maybe no one will notice.

But just like that motionless and maggot-ridden rodent, the wafting smell of a purloined post gives up the ghost hiding in the shadows.

From what I can see, it is well integrated with Google Team Apps (which requires a separate domain name), just not normal Google Apps. Which, yes, does make it annoying for individual Google users to try it out.

Google is just using the separate email address because it is a wiki-based site creator. It's mostly meant for networks like schools or businesses to create intranet sites. If they allowed @gmail.com for example, they would lose the "network" security.

  7. Google Apps for Domains.... by Chyeld · · Score: 3, Informative

If you try to log into the site using a domain already setup under Google Apps for Domains, you'll receive an error indicating that you have to speak to your site Admin to get access.

This can be a bit confusing, because intially if you log into the dashboard for your domain, Google Sites isn't automaticly added to your services and thus you might do as I did and thrash around a bit trying to figure out how to setup acccess.

It's actually fairly easy, use the "Add Services" button on your Dashboard and Google Sites should be one of the options listed (I'm using the "Next Gen Dashboard, so if you are using the old gen version which doesn't list beta services it might not show). Add the service, and optionally point it to sites.yourdomain.com or leave it at the default google.com address.

I'm waiting for the DNS to refresh for my own domain, but this looks like something that will be fun to play with.
