Fun Dance Dance Revolution Mod Hits the Pavement
It seems that the Newport Aquarium in Northern Kentucky has a cool custom mod for their Dance Dance Revolution game. Frogger. Yes, you too can hop your way to 8-bit excitement with this cool mod. The game was unveiled as a part of "The Frog Bog" exhibit, which is a celebration of all things froggy. It's always fun to see neat little mod projects like this.

Awaiting trademark-based cease-and-desist letter from Sega in five, four, three...
Those aren't just DDR pads - they look like stainless steel DDR pads. Those things should be in a rest area bathroom.

Frog Frog Evolution?
Konami introduced a few kids games for the PS2 played using a control mat on the floor, to get the mat you had to buy the frogger game which has quite a few fun mini games for 2-5 year olds.

THere are some other 'edutainment' titles which are supposed to help with letters, numbers, shapes and colours, but I've only got the frogger game for my kids.
My 3 year old is pretty good at most the games but has lost interest since I got Rock Band. Turns out she's doing a pretty good job as a vocalist.
Robotron on the 2-player DDR chassis. One player controls shooting, the other controls motion. Or give two players a D-pad for shooting and let them play co-op.
Frogger? How about something a bit more dramatic - Dance Dance Immolation!
From that screenshot it looks like the PS1 version of Frogger which included a terrific head-to-head mode. Now I'm getting nostalgic for the head-on freeway level...
Sounds pretty cool. I have a MAME cabinet set up, with a dance pad attached for Step Mania. It'd just be a quick config change to have it use the pad for Frogger. It'd work for Pac-Man and Q*Bert, too. I don't think I'd want to try Defender that way, though...

I give up on debugging. From now on, SIGSEGV is a feature.
I have a PSX/N64 controller to USB adapter for my computer so I can plug in PS2 dance mats (or N64 controllers! :D) to my computer and use them in emulators. So naturally I tried playing Starfox with the dance pad. I didn't do so well but got surprisingly good considering how ridiculously hard it was.

Y'know, I was just up at Newport on the Levee a month or so ago, mainly in a desperate attempt to find SOMETHING to do in this state (moved to Lexington recently to get a job). I was considering stopping by the aquarium, honestly, but around then my car started breaking down, so I had a bit more on my mind. Maybe I should've stopped by.
Well, okay, granted, I don't think this exhibit was there at the time, but still. Now I want to go back. This sounds neat.

Someone's already stealing the balance board concept.
