Shots of the New Tecmo Bowl for the DS
Kotaku has a bunch of screenshots of the new Tecmo Bowl game for the Nintendo DS. Purists shouldn't be disappointed with this game, as it seems (relatively) true to form. The main departure that seems to be drawing the ire of play testers is the absence of Bo. I guess he doesn't know football after all.
P.S. you misspelled "absence"
One of our competitors trademarked the term "hypothesis". From now on, we will call them "boneheaded ideas".
This was the best football game ever. It really captured everything that's fun about the game, and it's simple enough that you don't have to be able to move the joystick 30 different ways at the same time.
I'm going to buy a DS just for this game.
Gameplay Footage
Link to a vid of a couple plays being run. The audio sounds surprisingly good considering it's coming from a DS.
Other than that, it looks exactly like Tecmo Bowl, bring it on!
I wonder if I was the only one to go through and change every team's play book so that they ran the slowest forming plays. The end result was at the end of the season Jerry Ball from Detroit (team I played) ended up with 82 sacks in a season.
I still play Tecmo Bowl on an almost daily basis, thanks to FCEU. When my daughter (12 months old) is really upset, I just fire up the game and she's grinning in seconds. She's even figured out (much to my pride and frustration) which keys make the players move.
It's always a long day... 86400 doesn't fit into a short.
The second-greatest thing? The addition of the phrase "We picked their play!" into football lingo.
The main departure that seems to be drawing the ire of play testers is the absence of Bo.
Yeah, I can see a lot of cheaters-in-all-but-name being pissed at that, at least one of whom has replied to this article.
BTW, while the remake is called Tecmo Bowl, it's a remake of Tecmo Super Bowl. Tecmo Bowl was a different game and not nearly as fun.

TOUCHDOWN THURMAN THOMAS!
(Lameness filter be damned! This is actually relevant for once.)
I only see one screenshot on that page, and there are no links to see others. I thought the summary said "Screenshots" ?
