Inevitably people occassionally forget to switch to silent mode in theaters, meetings etc. I guess this feature would be nice to have but nothing to really get overly excited about.
...because in my opinion it's lame. The price to go see a film is already ridiculous and now they want to make everything more expensive to see for a few moments that may or may not enhance the experience based on your viewpoint. Not only that but it still requires you to wear glasses for the entirety of the film. No thank you.
Nobody here stated or implied that 'popular = automatically rubbish'. The idea that 'popular automatically meant not rubbish' was being refuted. Which someone clearly did imply.
I bought an original at launch and the when it died they sent me a new one for free. When that died they sent another one for free and when that died they wouldn't help any further and I said good riddance.
Did I state I would again be a 1st generation adopter of anything they make? Where did you read that? I'm saying if they make a really nice piece of hardware that proves itself and is a market leader I may purchase it. As for now we are happy with our PC and original PS3 which has never given us any issues.
You sure make a lot of assumptions but I guess I shouldn't expect any less from an Anonymous Coward Clown.
Dan, not all models run as you describe unfortunately. I went through 3 originals that MS replaced and they all were loud and as hot as hell disc or no disc. When the third one died and MS wouldn't replace I gave up. Maybe I'll try one of the new models some day but I'll probably just wait until the next-generation. Hopefully MS can do a lot better with the first round of hardware this time.
"...The only major catch is that it can't be the only set-top — you'll need at least one DVR at another TV in the house to enjoy one of the four HD streams that could be funneled into your home."
This lead me back to the fact that it's still AT&T and they will never get another penny from this guy.
Yet both of your posts were modded higher than the original. Wow.
I personally think this is indeed the sweetest raft ever! Love the great orange color so no cops mistake it for a bazooka and let off three clips of ammo into your chest.:)
This looks to me to be the best Tablet OS alternative to an iPad. I will wait for a few models to be released and get some time in before making a decision. Hopefully there will be some good hardware options.
No, to you they were just pointless frustration. For some it was a great challenge that, if the game was solid, made you want to play longer, get better and beat the game. Something that because of the difficulty was actually an accomplishment that was "cool" to use lingo from back in the day. It was actually something that a small percentage of those who owned the game had been able to do. Unlike today where if someone says, hey I beat blahblah, 90% or more of those who played or owned the game say yeah, me too. I completely agree that there are many things we have gotten away from in games because they are outdated, etc. However I completely disagree that is the case with difficulty, especially in certain genres of games.
Weird. Almost every single one of the Apple lovers I know are the people who experienced social rejection in high school. They also continue to be the type who prefer reruns of any Sci-Fi show to actual social interaction.
There are always exceptions to the rule. Notice in the summary it says "iPad owners tend to be...", not "All iPad owners...". Either way it is simply a study. Why are so many getting their panties in a bunch? Are people feeling guilty that they might actually fit this general profile of an iPad owner?
I'm not even trying to get the point. I just want to make it clear that ketchup on eggs is for losers no matter your age or perceived amount of "hipness". These are the same people who would put Heinz 57 on a Filet or Porterhouse.
Recognizing sarcasm isn't really your thing I suppose.
Really? I know several people who use Linux and Win 8 on a regular basis. They will definitely be giving Steam for Linux a go as well.

Great point. He probably also thinks that Miley Cyrus is a fantastic singer/musician.

Notice how he hasn't answered a single one of these replies? Probably because he is a iOS/Android fanboy who has no idea what he is talking about.
If you don't like Symbian then you should be pushing for Maemo or MeeGo.
..a fake /. story posted as a beautiful "set" for unlimited +5 Funny "spikes" for everyone?
If it isn't then this will make a great "Really?" segment on SNL's Weekend Update.

My apologies on the double post due to /. comments being completely hosed for 20-30 minutes.

So then you can connect whatever USB devices you would like to it? Hmmm...
Oh I get it! Caddyshack was the first R movie I remember sneaking up late at night to catch on HBO. That accent was damn sexy if you ask me!
I'm also wondering if they look into the science of booger eating and...........DOOOOOOODY!

You either:
1. Seriously exaggerated the Steam start up process
or
2. Have a ridiculously slow internet connection.
I have 15-20 games in my library and rarely notice any delay in logging in and starting a game.

I believe the correct term is Bazingga!
