Cops Mistakenly Donate 25 Pounds of Pot to Prison

The Edinburg, Texas police department gave the local prison a donation of fruit seized from a truck that was used to smuggle drugs. In addition to the fruit they were also kind enough to include 25 pounds of pot. The drugs were missed in the initial search of the produce truck. Prison officials rewarded the inmates who reported the drugs by strip searching them.

    As it turns out, the entire 15 pounds of pot was recovered from the prisoners.

      The ten pounds of pot is now securely in police custody. All five pounds will be destroyed within the next week.

    A prison inmate reports the find and they get strip-searched? Proof that no good deed goes unpunished.

      They're in prison, thus they are felons. Granted, many people are sent to prison for undeserving crimes, but the fact remains, and I don't really feel too much pity for them.

      And the message they apparently learn there is that all you'll get for going strait and being honest is screwed over. I'm sure that will rehabilitate them!

      Right now as it stands 1 out of 10 in the United states will be in prison at some point in their lifetime.
      Feelin' lucky scumbag? You could be next. You don't even have to commit a crime to be wrongly imprisoned.
      You can even commit a crime that shouldn't be a crime to be imprisoned.
      You can even join the majority of those whose worst crime was pissing off the state by being part of marijuana culture, amongst murderers, hoodlums and the lifers who don't care to abide by even prison society rules.
      1 in 10, someone you know is going.
      Someone you're related to is going.
      1 in 10 says you better wise up with some compassion and understanding.

      1 in 10? That's too low. If the health care bill passes, by 2014 people will be imprisoned if they don't buy health insurance. It's in the bill.

      Did you even read either of my posts? My first post stated my understanding that many people are sent to prison undeserving. My second stated that I understand the way the prison reacted was not the best response. And anyways, if you commit a crime that will get you put in prison, even if it shouldn't have that severe of a consequence, you still committed that crime. If you're not willing to accept the punishment, don't do it.

      The fact also remain that they are human beings. No good can come from searching people who report this sort of thing. Next time ti's fuck it and no one reports it.

      Another example of how stupid security people can be.

      I could be biased. When I was in the Military I let a buddy use my car. Latter I found out he got busted doing a drug buy.
      Now wanting any surprises I asked them to have the dogs search my vehicle. They read me the riot act and got in my face on how they were going to lock me up if they found anything; which they didn't. I also had several drug tests after that as well, thanks to that prick.

      Do you think I ever reported something wrong again? Hell, the Russian could have parachuted in and I wouldn't have told anyone.

      I had to laugh when I bought a plastic container at the petstore to store dogfood in a few weeks ago. It claimed on the tag that "dogs can't smell what's inside!".... does that mean if you want to hide your drugs, you just buy a plastic dog food container for $20? (Bit of false advertising there, I'd say!)

      Possible, however:
      It's hard to move a lot of pot and not be visibly noticed, and it's even harder to get non marijuana residue on the outside of the bags.

      There are several ways to avoid dogs, there just difficult, time consuming and require careful thought.

      It's hard enough to even get past a human nose. A friend of mine who used to work at a courier company smelled out a small package containing ~30g of marijuana in a pile of ~100 other packages. It was wrapped in three zip-loc bags, then a plastic VHS case, wrapped in about half a roll of packing tape followed by a whole roll of duct tape, then the sealed plastic courier bag. Needless to say, that package was 'lost in transit'....
