    I checked "Disable Advertising", why doesn't it carry over to the articles?

    Because Idle CSS is shit. Remove the "idle." from the URL and it comes up with the normal CSS.

    Also, you should keep ads enabled. Unless if they are particularly annoying, keeping ads enabled will support Slashdot and keep them alive.
