The scary part is that a) with the resources at the disposal of the U.S govt, I doubt they would have hard time fabricating a sexual assault case and b) these days it's enough that a girl with some acting skills points at you and cries, and that's it - game over.

However, on 18 November, Stockholm District Court approved a request to detain Assange for questioning on suspicion of rape, sexual molestation, and unlawful coercion. Director of Public Prosecutions Marianne Ny, who had reopened the investigation in September, said she had requested the warrant because, "so far, we have not been able to meet with him to accomplish the interrogation."
If he really was innocent why wouldn't he talk to the authorities? His lawyer claims he'd talk to the authorities via skype, the Swedish Embassy in London or Scotland Yard, well in the world I've you really don't get to dictate the terms of your questioning with the police. If I was charged with rape and told the police I'd Skype with them they'd hunt me down and handcuff my ass.

It's time for the gloves to come off... These people don't care how many people die as a result of their rampages. The soldier that leaked the documents should be tried for treason and anyone associated with the release of the documents should be charged with espionage.

Look, that thing between their legs is the only ticket to any sort of power and feeling of importance that most women will ever know. It's not like they have the dedication or drive or intellect of a man. It's not like they have accomplished a damned thing in science or engineering COMPARED TO their male collegues despite not only equal opportunity but the reverse discrimination of affirmative action. Being as capricious and backstabbing and unreasonable about sex as possible is the only way most women will ever feel in control of anything. Of course they want to call consentual sex "rape" if the man said things that were not nice afterwards. That doesn't make it right.

I personally think he's doing this to get even for the perceived notion that this US administration hasn't worked fast enough to get out of Iraq/Afghanistan. Because if he had any real sense he'd realize he could very possibly start a bigger war in the near future.
But he was able to give an interview to Time magazine in which he called for Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, to resign. "She should resign, if it can be shown that she was responsible for ordering US diplomatic figures to engage in espionage in the United Nations, in violation of the international covenants to which the US has signed up. Yes, she should resign over that," he said.

What surprises me is two things: 1) Surely they would have better charges than this they could use against him. 2) Why has no one been able to sink Wiki Leaks. A couple of DOS attacks? Surely if any major governmental power had wanted to, they would have "sunk his battleship" by now.

Your "hero" is a convicted criminal that is now accused of rape and molestation. His closest friends thinks he's paranoid and borderline insane. He has self-admitted to being a (naive) anarchist, and is hell bent on bringing down all governments, in particular the US government, it's corporations, and its way of life.

Just like you to know...at least in the USA upetty college girls sometimes decide their worth is a direct relation to the number of restraining orders they just "had to take to feel safe". Even when the guy doesn't want jack to do with them. The legal system is designed to protect battered women for good reason...the problem is many take advantage of it to try and win out over a guy. "You dumped me!?! I'll show you...for the rest of your life you'll have a restraining order hanging over your head in every interview you go on...you'll never forget me!". I found it helps to make their parents wise of the situation...once someone sane gets involved that has control over their "too good for reality daughter" things get diffused rather quickly.
In my opinion far to many girls are put on a thrown all their life and the second someone shows them they aren't half as perfect as they think they are...they believe it causes some emotional distress that's so horrible that to even see the person responsible for it again will torment them...forget the fact they have to show up for court though. Honestly I'm glad someone this public is getting put through this. Maybe it will shed some light on how one sided the legal system is when accusations like this are thrown about. A women can destroy a man's life just with a few quick words if the man doesn't have the mind to stand up for himself in court.
