I can't believe this was modded [mod]. You're obviously another rabid [OS] fanboy worshiping at the feet of [Tech CEO]. The summary was horribly written, but what do you expect from [Slashdot Editor]? Why is this even filed under [Slashdot category, not 'Idle']? I should have been filed under [Slashdot category, use 'Idle']. While IANA[letter], I do know about [random subject] from reading [website] and you'll notice I have a [number from 1 to 100] Slashdot ID. What needs to be done is [personal opinion]. Of course, it'll never work because [conspiracy theory]. Finally, in [political organization] [country], [object] [verb] YOU!

Surely the editors have been using this feature all along?

Actually, xkcd's effort this year is (a) fun and (b) is a cool hack. Not so much a "gotcha" though since (like last year) they've actually been and gone and done it (Don't just look at the latest cartoon).

Sorry, Slashdot pranksters, to rain on your parade, but you needed to add tweaks to every single article to compete...

In a strange, altered mindset way I miss OMG Ponies. Nothing said April First like a pink tech web site. Now it is just bland articles we have to guess as to real or fake. I guess there can be only one Pony moment.

Agreed. I have come to Slashdot every April first hoping to have the return of the OMG Ponies. It was legendary.

While I have too high a number to attempt to discuss how the level of discourse has fallen around here, the number of joke articles on April 1 has truly sucked. I'll take a couple GOOD joke articles but that's it.
