Now I am never one to judge a movie before I see it but him directing it more or less took my interest in the movie down to nothing. As in I wont see it in the theater and Ill probablly just wait till its on netflix since disney has inked a deal with netflix and already started releasing movies on it.

He isnt a terrible director but he isnt good either. He is very mediocre at best. I really disliked the star trek movie he did, super 8 had good intentions but was rather bland and boring and you could really tell he basically tried to copy stephen spieldbergs old style in it and mission impossible 3 much like all of them was just an abortion put on screen.

JJ is really the very and perfect definition of "in the right place at the right time". He got very lucky which earned him some undue credit that has carried him along. If he had to get along on his movie directing skills alone he would be a nobody.

So personally Ill pass on the new star wars movies. Besides when they talked about it being a trilogy I lost even more interest. Im sick of everything having to be a trilogy, just make one damn good movie at a time instead of dragging it out.

What's dumb-ass about admitting to piracy? Or is it dumb-ass to admit to giving up on a movie so bad it's unwatchable? Even if most won't admit to it publicly, what percentage of /. readers do you think have every pirated anything? 99%?
