Doxing Victim Zoe Quinn Launches Online "Anti-harassment Task Force"

AmiMoJo writes: On Friday, developer and doxing victim Zoe Quinn launched an online "anti-harassment task force" toolset, staffed by volunteers familiar with such attacks, to assist victims of a recent swell of "doxing" and "swatting" attacks. The Crash Override site, built by Quinn and game developer Alex Lifschitz, offers free services from "experts in information security, white hat hacking, PR, law enforcement, legal, threat monitoring, and counseling" for "victims of online mob harassment."

They have already managed to preemptively warn at least one victim of a swatting attempt in Enumclaw, Washington. As a result, the police department's head e-mailed the entire department to ask any police sent to the address in question to "knock with your hand, not your boot."

Gamergate supporters themselves have been harassed, swatted, sent malicious objects in the mail and this is largely ignored in the media.

- All harassment is bad. Apparently only GG think that some people deserve harassment and some don't.
- No GG supporter has been swatted. Mike Cernovich invented a story where Zoe 'tried' to swat him, but it's a complete lie. He deliberately conflates an article which suggests reporting him to the police for criminal harassment with Zoe retweeting that article when it contained his business address - which just happens to also be his home address, which he's made available himself to the public.
- Milo was sent a malicious object in the mail, but considering he's spent the last few years of his professional career deliberately pissing people off for page views, it's less like to be GG oriented than, say, Chris Kluwe receiving malicious objects (plural) in the mail for the crime of winning a GG debate against an idiot (the aforementioned Mike Cernovich). Oh, and for calling GGers "paint-huffing shitgoblins".
- The reason all that is being ignored by the media is because there's either no basis or no public interest. The promulgation of gendered harassment online is news and the fact that a lot of people posting the #gamergate hashtag do so to harass women and supporters of women is therefore fairly newsworthy.

The hilarious part of all this is how up in arms people have gotten about Zoe Quinn creating an anti-harassment taskforce that she and her boyfriend are not accepting donations or money for. Look at the people on KiA and Twitter claiming this is a scam despite no money being involved. I've even seen people claim it's a trap, and that they'll harvest IPs of GGers who visit the site - like every single website does, all the time.

"This is all a trick! They're trying to get me to harass them so that they can say that we harass people! WELL, SOME HARASSMENT SHOULD TEACH HER A LESSON IN TRYING TO TRICK ME!"

Sad.

Her name is Zoe Quinn. It's not a pseudonym, that's her actual name - she doesn't need to be doxxed. She's not a "victim" of doxxing, we already know who she is. Frikkin' hell, did someone hack her RAMs too? Was her CPU phreaked by 1337 script kiddies?

There was a headline the other day about saying that Sony had been doxxed.

Do all the reviewers in "the best presses in the United States" bang the same girl and give her pathetic game good reviews? This isn't about people "knowing each other", unless you're talking in the biblical sense.

Let's recap here. Zoe Quinn slept with all the major game reviewers and/or their editors. She gets rave reviews for a game people who actually bought have panned mercilessly. Literally caught with their pants down, they point to their customers and scream "sexist!". That's the point of the scandal. You can dress it up however you like, but at the root it's about corruption in the gaming press.

Yes that all sounds very nice. The problem is that once you discount the misogyny, ban the harassment, develop a modicum of maturity, gain a sense of proportion and ideally hash out a coherent theory of ethics, you realise that GG is a movement with no actual enemies or goals. It's hard to rationalise this zen-like philosophy with the hysterical defensive posture of GamersGaters though. One naturally begins to suspect the movement is less than entirely honest about who and what it's targets are.

Well, basically in the minds of RedPiller's SJW == Commisnaziliberalcanadian or something. It seems there is no enormity of which SJWs are not beneath. Basically everything that these people don't like gets labelled "SJW" and that is expected to shut down the conversation, because once you've been labelled as an SJW, you're clearly worse than Hitler and Obama combined and are so far beneath contempt that there's no point in continuing.

So basically SJW is everything they hate so you're clearly an SJW for not believing random, bile filled crap on the internet.

And don't let the fact that so far all of the most major unsubstianted claims have been disproven (as if they even need disproving) put you off!
