Ireland Votes Yes To Same-Sex Marriage
BarbaraHudson writes: Reuters is reporting that the citizens of Ireland voted overwhelmingly to legalize same-sex marriages. While it's also legal in 19 other countries, Ireland was the first to decide this by putting the question to the citizens. "This has really touched a nerve in Ireland," Equality Minister Aodhan O'Riordain said at the main count center in Dublin. "It's a very strong message to every LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) young person in Ireland and every LGBT young person in the world." Observers say the loss of moral authority of the Catholic church after a series of sex scandals was a strong contributing factor, with priests limiting their appeals to the people sitting in their pews. In contrast, the "Yes" side dominated social media.
I've had it with the political articles. There are plenty of websites for those. Slashdot USED to be "News for nerds, stuff that matters". I'm not saying this story doesn't matter. There are exactly 0 valid reasons why people and goats shouldn't be allowed to get married, that's it, zero reasons, as in absolutely none. Any country or region which bans goat marriage or has to ask if it should be allowed it just a bunch of uncivilized hicks who need to grow up. Marriage is a union of two living beings who love each other and that is all it is, period. It's not a milestone when goat marriage get "approved" it's really just , "About time", and for anyone who doesn't think goat marriage should be legal, again go back to the 0 valid points. If you really think you can make one, go ahead, you'd be the first person in human history to do so.

I can think of one: Gay parents pushing their social agendas onto their (likely) straight adopted children are more likely to cause self esteem and relationship issues. This isn't much different than the stereotype of the belt wielding father who tries to beat the gay out of his son.
This also reminds me of those articles in the times about 'progressive' parents raising their boys as 'gender neutral', but really, they just force them to wear girls clothes and play with dolls.

This is mostly a big deal for retarded foreigners who imagined Ireland to be a heavily conservative place to begin with. You know nothing about this country, nothing about the people, and pretty much nothing about this amendment to the constitution. The choir: you were preaching to it.

Exterminating the maggots will not stop the meat from rotting, neither will exterminating homosexuals stop a nation from rotting either. Such rot is caused by a moral, spiritual, and character deficiency amongst its people. To stop meat from rotting the application of a preservative must be applied --salt, and so too must a preservative be applied to a nation to stop its descent into depravity. That preservative is the salt of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, Jesus, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. The light of truth is blinding, and the clarion bells of righteousness sounding hateful speech to the wicked who walk in the darkness of evil thoughts and deeds. I pity the nation of Ireland whose people are so foolish and confused they do not understand the truth that in the beginning God created all life, including humans, and he made them male and female one for the other that they may produce offspring. Only someone utterly evil, depraved, or mentally ill cannot see the self-evident truth that male and female were created and designed one for the other. The people of Northern Ireland are probably quite thankful they are a separate entity from Ireland.

Being against so-called "spousal rape" was but one in a long line of attacks on Christian marriage (being that consent is given once and forever), and therefore, Western Civilization as a whole. If you support action against "spousal rape", then you support divorce on a woman's whim, and if you support divorce on a woman's whim, then you support her ruining the lives of her husband and children on nothing more than her whim.
