SourceForge Eliminates DevShare Program (sourceforge.net)
SourceForge has officially eliminated its DevShare program. The DevShare program delivered installer bundles as part of the download for participating projects. We want to restore our reputation as a trusted home for open source software, and this was a clear first step towards that. We are more interested in doing the right thing than making extra short-term profit. This is just the first step in a number of improvements we will outline in the coming weeks. SourceForge and Slashdot were acquired in late January by BIZX.
It's too late, I look at sourceforge like a spammer hijacker malware site.
You should just close it down.
Too little too late, fuck you now assholes.
Why should anyone trust this spamware site?
Open source should just host on github.com for now, but they are SJWs and known for banning software for political reasons, so better yet use git and host on multiple git hosts at once. It's so easy with git (for source AND for the binaries downloads too).
Unless you are a monopoly, you only get a few passes before you tarnish your name.
It doesn't matter who was behind the worst decisions in SF history, but what is done is done, and you simply won't ever be trusted again because no one really cares who "owns" SF, they will only care what it was allowed to become at one point.
The best you can do is start over and distance yourself from the mess. Inherit the SF infrastructure, learn from previous mistakes, re-brand, provide something useful again, and figure out how to reasonably and respectfully monetize it. I don't think anyone cares about the SF "legacy" or name as much as having a decent and untainted service, moving forward.
This site really is a magnet for autistic neck beards. They scare women away with their creepyness and then blame it on social justice. Yeah some people on the other end are a bit "off" but you guys start up with death and rape threats further proving their point.

Rubbish.
It's like you just got caught being abusive to the store customers with your fingers in the till at the same time and now no one wants to come to your store and it's turn all crap and nasty and then you sit there and think "Oh shit" and now it's "So sorry, we won't do it again. Please come back everyone pretty please"
Sorry everyone's now shopping elsewhere because you lost your Reputation and Trust. Tough love
