Authorities Reportedly Question McAfee's Ex-girlfriend (networkworld.com)

netbuzz writes: While antivirus software pioneer John McAfee is in the media spotlight for his long-shot Libertarian presidential run, law enforcement authorities in Belize and the FBI have just this week reportedly questioned one of his ex-girlfriends as they continue to investigate the 2012 murder of McAfee's American neighbor. That probe prompted McAfee to flee Belize and eventually land back in the United States. McAfee has steadfastly denied any involvement in the murder.

They have a bunch of them specifically for the purpose of explaining the method(s) and value(s) to be had with the placement of the figuring into one's rectum.

One of them, my personal favorite, actually has links to get a variety of paraphernalia that is decorated with the images of said figurine. They include links to the products to buy them, links to pictures (like of a wastebasket - in which to defecate before putting the figuring into your rectum), and all sorts of things. How are you even here if you aren't familiar with them? Seriously...

They're the "green Jedi figurine" posts. They're important business! I seriously think there should be mandatory education on this sort of thing. If we're going to teach CS in schools (and not just how to use Office) then they should have a good portion of that course on the culture that is the 'net. Trolls, Yoda, GNAA, and more - they belong on that list. They're a part of history. They're a part of what is the 'net and why the 'net is what it is. Someone, for better or worse, puts some serious dedication into their work.

Part of the problem is that we've reduced the meaning of the word "troll" to be anything we don't like and so we don't actually note that the word is diluted and used to (often) indicate some really creative and clever content. Some call it vandalism, I call it art. I'm not positive but I think I've seen and read all of 'em. Somewhere around the 'net or at least back home on a hard drive is a whole "special" Linux version. I knew what it did before I downloaded it but I downloaded it and archived it anyhow. The preservation of history is important.

It's worthy to note that the FBI and US government have been focusing there attention on libertarians and the Free State Project. Numerous activists have been targeted and arrested for non-crimes.

James Cleveland was charged for recording a police interaction. The jury deadlocked 6-6 on "Disorderly Conduct" (ie half the jury didn't believe he was disorderly and he clearly wasn't from his own videos of the interaction!!!) and they vindicated him completely on the “resisting” arrest charge.

Uber activist Christopher David was arrested not for driving illegally which would have resulted in a minor fine and citation, but rather on trumped up Class B felony wiretapping charges, for get this: recording a bouncer in public who was attempting to bully him into stopping his work as an Uber driver. It is well settled case law that you have no right to privacy in public and everyone has a right to record. Despite this the government charged him with wiretapping and stole $5,000 from him (bail).

Jessica Wardell, other libertarian activists, and those on the other side of the political spectrum made headlines for activism around equality under the law within the scope of female tonelessness in public. This was more social than legal initially as in New Hampshire there is no law against female tonelessness, but despite that the government took action against some of the activists under illegal ordinances. The ordinances were thrown out on appeal as under New Hampshire law towns do not have the power to pass such laws. Fortunately thanks to a libertarian lawyer and activist we won this battle.

Rich Paul led a series of protest rallies in Keen's central square in New Hampshire against the criminalization of illegal drugs. He is a user and minor dealer of marijuana (both for medical and recreational use) and major public critic of the current law. What makes this a case of political persecution was the FBI's involvement in the case against him for small time drug dealing (marijuana). The FBI does not normally get involved in small time drug dealing cases. The reason they setup a sting on the drugs was so that they could utilize him as an informant to attack the libertarian political activists in Keene, NH. They wanted him to wear a bug into the KAC (Keene Activist Center). Keep in mind libertarians don't believe in the use of force/violence and while there *are* acts of civil disobedience none result in harm to other people. He chose not to plead guilty for a no-jail sentence and faced 100 years in prison. This far exceeds what major cartel leaders often get. None-the-less he was found guilty (unsurprisingly) and if not for criminal action by the judge for denying him his right to inform the jury about the juries right to nullify bad law he would likely be in jail today. Thankfully thanks to other activists in New Hampshire the defendants now have the right to inform the juries about here rights to nullify bad law and as that wasn't allowed by the judge he was able to and successfully appealed the case.

Numerous other activists have been arrested and persecuted on trumped up charges for what should be considered non-criminal activity. Other examples include Ross Ulbricht (Silk Road fame) who did not receive a fair trial. He was denied the complete set of evidence and facts which would have aided in his defence and the judge then didn't permit the entrance of evidence or a defence that would have shown the serious cracks in the prosecutors case. He was in all respects denied the right to defend himself or question the reliability of the evidence presented by the prosecution. The judge had a clear bias against illegal drug use and proceeded to throw the book at Ross. At best Ross operated a web site that acted as a market place for the exchange of goods and was not himself a drug dealer.
