Robot Handcuffed and Arrested At Moscow Rally (abc.net.au)

Russian police have arrested a robot. Long-time Slashdot reader ferret4 quotes ABC News: A robot has been detained by police at a political rally in Moscow, with authorities attempting to handcuff the machine. Police have not confirmed why they detained the machine named Promobot, but local media was reporting the company behind the robot said police were called because it was 'recording voters' opinions on [a] variety of topics for further processing and analysis by the candidate's team'."
Interestingly, an earlier model of the same robot escaped its research lab in June, traveling 150 feet before its batteries died -- and despite being reprogrammed twice, continued to move towards the exits.

How horrible that people in Russia express their own opinions rather than those of Putin's. This plague of free thought must be shut down. The Russian people must not be allowed freedom to speak as evidenced by Putin making it a crime for mothers whose sons died while invading Ukraine from speaking out about their son's deaths.

Imagine what would happen if the Russian people spoke freely about the corruption of Putin and his oligarch friends. How would Putin ever live with himself if freedom of speech were allowed? The horror.

Everybody does. It's the natural state of humans. Humans are tribal animals. Sometimes they seem to get it together, but they're happier in tribes where everybody is alike and they don't need to think. Humans hate thinking.

It really is a sad state of affairs when a species evolves language, philosophy, and reason then decides aww to hell with it and flushes it down the toilet to become grunting animals again.
