It's official: Donald Trump has won the 2016 presidential election. Slashdot reader Xenographic writes: Google's map of results is now calling the race for Donald J. Trump. This is something that Nate Silver jokingly predicted back on May 10th when he wrote "Reminder: Cubs will win the World Series and, in exchange, President Trump will be elected 8 days later." The House and Senate are also under Republican control. Hillary Clinton addressed the nation this morning and told her supporters that they all should keep an open mind and give Trump the chance to lead.

You voted for a third party, you get to make your bed in it.
The US Presidential election will never EVER be won by a third party. It is impossible because the electoral college pretty much guarantees that it's impossible for anyone but an official political party from even getting air time during a debate.
In every country but the US, the popular vote votes in either the head of state, or the party of the majority, thus who leads that party is effectively the head of state. But they aren't time-limited either.
You can look forward to either of the following outcomes:
a) Trump gets impeached before 2018, for crimes he is accused of currently.
b) Trump is put in check by the senate in 2018, because the senate and maybe even the house does not like him.
c) Trump is booted out in 2020 because there is no way he is going to survive a re-election campaign because that wall to Mexico is not ever happening.
BYes, the American people have spoken, they are happy to be represented by someone who is a caricature of the worst American stereotypes, aggressive, irrational, uneducated,greedy and violently racist and mysogynistic.
