Google To Launch a Jobs Search Engine In the US (techcrunch.com)
At its I/O 2017 conference, Google announced that it's launching a jobs search engine in the U.S. that will focus on a wide variety of jobs -- from entry-level and service industry positions to high-end professional jobs. The service will also use machine learning and artificial intelligence to better understand how jobs are classified and related, among other things. TechCrunch reports: In a few weeks, Google will begin to recognize when U.S. users are typing job search queries into Google Search, and will then highlight jobs that match the query. However, Google is not necessarily taking on traditional job search service providers with this launch -- instead, it's partnering with them. The company said that Google for Jobs will initially partner with LinkedIn, Facebook, Careerbuilder Monster, Glassdoor, and other services. The search engine will have a number of tools that will help you find the right jobs for you. For example, you'll be able to filter jobs by location, title, category or type, date posted or whether it's full or part-time, among other things. The service will also show applicants things like commute time, to help them figure out if the job is too far away to consider. What makes the service interesting is that it's leveraging Google's machine learning smarts to understand how job titles are related and cluster them together.
It's almost as if the "editors" here don't even read their own website.
Ah, give them a break. The editors have already been fired. Their last days of the notice period is now being spent training the AI which will replace them.
The future will be bright, I promise!
Indeed. Too bad Google doesn't provide a dup search engine. Oh, wait....

Google's Assistant should really offer the full range of services required. From insulting your boss; planting a time bomb in the accounting DB; sending off a last desperate attempt to hook with Sally in marketing.
All with Clippy / Smart Reply options, of course:
So, I see you are are about to leave your current job. What resignation letter would you like to send?
"Nixon Style"
"Give me more money now!"
"I want my stapler back".
Ah, yes, good old machine learning.
Chelsea Manning is looking... but it may have problem getting references.
"It"? Oh how clever! But the 2018 mid-term elections are coming, with all 435 house representatives and 34 senators up for election. There are plenty of people who would vote for her because they believe that her actions were necessary because of the egregious conduct of the US wrt foreign and military policy, which harmed the nation's interests as well as needlessly and futilely endangering military service personnel.
Now as for the question of where to find Jobs - google says he's buried at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto, California, United States. Was that so hard?
"Transparent" is a shit show that trades on every stereotype going. A man in drag is NOT a transsexual.
it's not limited to their website. they can't read at all. or write.
Any guest worker system is indistinguishable from indentured servitude.
How is this something that Google+ wouldn't be used for if people really wanted to use it? Are they just planning to buy out some resume mill, slap whatever reputation is left after they burned it with the Android brand and hope to collect more personal info that they can correlate with geo-location data? Oh, how's that project Ara doing, btw? Seriously, Sergei, come back. I think I would rather have someone stepping out on his wife with one of his subordinates running the company than a starry-eyed child with no vision. At least bring Larry back. No one cares how many cats your AI can recognize from all the youtube videos. Fix the core business. And fire the guy who loosened the screws to the point where anything anything goes now. You've spent your time in the desert. You can't claim that you are the good guys, anymore. But, at least, you can salvage the smart-guys' company. And that ain't bad.

...Google CEO announced that their robotics and AI department will start aggressively selling their products to US firms, with the target of replacing most, if not all, human workforce. How they will find the firms to whom they will sell their products has not been disclosed.
What would make this any better than the platforms that just end up collecting resumes and returning void for actual jobs (save for guest worker fraud)?
Would be nice to have the preferences:
"Favor employers willing to hire long-term unemployed"
"Favor employers willing to hire other 'non-traditional' candidates"
"Disfavor certification or clearance requirements"
"Favor jobs with low threat from AI"

And who could blame them?
