Scientists Get Closer To Replicating Human Sperm (engadget.com)
Rachel England reports via Engadget: Scientists have taken an important step forward in recreating the way the human body makes sperm, which could one day mean creating artificial sperm and eggs for infertility treatment. The researchers, from the University of Cambridge's Gurdon Institute, are thought to be the first team to have reached the "halfway point" -- a significant milestone -- on the path between stem cells and immature sperm. This pathway -- which the team are attempting to track and understand -- involves embryonic cells turning into immature sperm via a series of complex steps known as meiosis. Cells follow the same journey for around eight weeks, before taking different directions depending on whether they're to be sperm or eggs. Previously, the team had managed to track this pathway to the four-week mark. Now, using new technology in the form of miniature artificial testicles (called "gonadal organoids"), it's on track to pass this point and gain new, deep insight into the process of sperm creation. Good thing that at best, third wave feminists represent about 10% of women. They're quite a minority and the majority of women disagree with them. As a matter of fact, sperm levels have been dropping worldwide.
That holds no value really. The women alive today were not oppressed for "thousands and thousands of years" by men. They live in a world where they can do anything, and hold privileges that no man gets. If that whole idea of thousands and thousands of years were true then no group ever would be able to live happily because every group has been oppressed, hunted, disparaged or whatever you choose, for thousands of years (or for at least a large percentage of their existence). At what point do you cut off their leeway? This idea of recompense in perpetuity is merely a modern one. Only in modern times does a country pay descendants of people who were wronged 150 to 200 years ago for things that nobody alive was around to be affected by. Only in modern times are people paid lip service for simply being a part of a group that many years ago had a problem. Yes, in modern times there is discrimination still against women. But you know what? There's the same against men too... worse, it is often perpetrated by other men as well! As long as any group is treated as special or different, there will be no true equality. One group will always feel slighted or experience issues from it.
For that the researches might have to replicate the rest of the ejaculate. Soon, sex toys that come with a filling ports and capsules with flavors and vintages. Some might even have moisturizer in them to shave of few seconds from a busy morning ritual.
In general, women lack agency - the ability to get places and do things on their own, without someone cheering them on and forcing them to do stuff. In fact, i'd expect the pendulum to swing back to a worse time in the next cycle. It always does.
